Thai Apple Snail Salad



Thai Apple Snail Salad
Pila ampullacea (Scientific name), APPLE SNAIL (Common name)

Ingredients

            Thai Apple snails (Hoi Khoang)                8-10
            Ground roasted chilly                                  1/2 table spoon
            Ground roasted rice                                     1 table spoon
            Fish sauce                                                    1 table spoon
            Lime juice                                                      2 table spoon
            Spring onion                                                 4-5 stems
            Coriander                                                      4-5 stems

Instruction

1.    Boil the apple snails until the cover of the snails are opened, that mean they are cooked.
2.    Take the meat of the snail out from the shall using folks or tooth pick, then clean them well with water 2-3 times.
3.    Slice the snail meat to small pieces, put the sliced snail meat into a bowl
4.    Seasoning with ground roasted chilly, ground roasted rice, fish sauce, lime juice, spring onions, and corianders.
5.    Mix them together gently. You can add more or less seasoning.
6.    Serve with fresh vegetables and steamed sticky rice.

Benefit

            Spring onion is another source for calcium and phosphorous in a right portion that body can absorb. It also has beta-carotene, which help to prevent us from cancer.
